Playbound Tile Playground Surfacing
BASIC USE:

San Francisco Unified School District

Peabody Elementary ~ San FranciscoPlayBound Tile Playground Surfacing is designed for playgrounds of all types. It is installed over a poured asphalt, concrete or crushed stone substrate. It is also suited for rooftop applications. The product line features an extensive range of standard tile designs and accessory pieces.
COMPOSITION & MATERIALS:
The PlayBound Tile system offers shock resistance and comes in 4 standard thicknesses and can be produced from 11⁄2”-4” (38-100mm) in thickness. It consists of 2 product families: pigmented and EPDM. Pigmented tiles are 100% post-consumer recycled SBR (Styrene Butadiene Rubber), available only in black and pigmented polyurethane. The EPDM tiles are recycled postindustrial EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) rubber, available in a variety of colors and color combinations, and polyurethane.
PlayBound Tiles feature dual density construction with bottom designs for maximum surface contact and solid sides. This allows maximum contact between the tile bottom and base as well as between adjacent tiles.
LIMITATIONS:
The following chemicals may cause damage to the playground surface and should be avoided: disinfectants, concentrated chlorine bleach, gasoline, diesel fuel, hydraulic and lubricating oils, acids and organic solvents.
In water play areas, pool surrounds and similar applications; dissolved minerals and other chemicals (hydrochlorides) may cause surface discoloration over time. This condition, should it occur, is not considered to be a product failure.
Due to elastic characteristics of rubber, some variation in tile dimensions may be expected. This amount is approximately +/- 2mm in thickness and -2 to 5mm in length and in width.
ENVIRONMENTAL:
This system makes extensive use of recycled tire rubber products as a major component.
WARRANTY:
The standard warranty period is 5 years from date of product shipment. Contact Surface America, Inc., or your locale certified installer, for more information on warranty terms.
