Dex-O-Tex Elastex 500 Roof Deck Surfacing

I. COMPOSITION

Dex-O-Tex Elastex 500 is a trowel-applied elastomeric surfacing designed primarily for use as a waterproof promenade roofing.  The material consists of a unique moisture-cured resin binder into which rubber aggregate is combined at time of application to form a tough, elastic waterproof membrane.  A topcoat, available in a range of colors, is then applied.  The material is turned up against building walls, parapets, etc., to form an integral waterproof membrane.

Designed primarily as a waterproof promenade surfacing for balconies, sun decks and play roofs, Dex-O-Tex Elastex 500 is also used as a protective covering for renovating cracked concrete sidewalks, parking structures, pool decks, etc.  Surfaces over which Dex-O-Tex Elastex 500 may be installed include: plywood, new and existing concrete and metal.  Consult Crossfield Products Corp. regarding other surfaces.

II. TYPICAL USES:

Armstrong Residence ~ Auburn Promenade roofs, sun decks, rooftop tennis courts, balconies, waterproof traffic surfacing for pedestrian/vehicular applications.

III. MAINTENANCE:

For maximum sheen and cleanability, the deck should be periodically resealed with a compatible sealer.  Consult Crossfield Products Corp. for sealer selection.

IV. ADVANTAGES / LIMITATIONS:

Advantages:

1. Monolithic, including integral flashing.
2. Resilient and comfortable underfoot.
3. Installed by factory-approved applicators.
4. Reduced sound transmission to adjacent areas.
5. Environmentally safe - meets various state volatile organic compound requirements.

Limitations:

1. Substrates must be dry when material is applied.
2. Not designed for interior use.
