Dex-O-Tex Weatherwear Promenade Roof Top Surfacing

I. COMPOSITION:

Weatherwear - Private Residence, Berkeley
Private Residence, Berkeley
Dex-O-Tex Weatherwear Promenade Roof Deck covering is a multi-layered, troweled application. It is designed for use as a waterproof roof surface on sun decks, play roofs, observation decks etc., which are subject to normal foot traffic, roof furniture and rubber-tired, window washing rings.

The material is applied in a series of troweled coatings which form, successively, an elastic latex membrane, an integral composition flashing, and a flexible rubber-cement traffic surface. A unique “slip-sheet” divorces the Dex-O-Tex application from the surface it covers and permits it to “float” over normal building cracks and movement.

Dex-O-Tex Weatherwear components are all individual combinations of liquid rubber latex polymers incorporating dehydrating powders, vulcanizers and special aggregates.

The total thickness of the material is 3/16”-1/4” (4,7mm-6,35mm). It can be applied over plywood or concrete. After suitable preparation, it may be installed over existing promenade surfaces of various types, such as quarry tile, flagstone etc. When applied over plywood in cold climates, a direct bond application may be substituted for the slip-sheet feature. Consult Crossfield Products Corp. for recommendations.

Dex-O-Tex Weatherwear is available in a wide range of standard colors.

Dex-O-Tex Weatherwear is fire-retardant and is approved as such by the following agencies:

  • International Conference of Building Officials, Class A Fire Retardant Roof Covering, Report No. 1338
  • California State Fire Marshal, Listing No. 4175-291:1
  • City of Los Angeles Research Report No. 2360
