Hayes Valley Playground: A Sports and Satellite Extravaganza

Vintage Contractors, under the direction and in collaboration with San Francisco street artist, Apexer, (aka Ricardo Richey), just completed a multicolored spectacle. Using colorful, abstract patterns, we’ve transformed a distressed basketball/tennis court into a fully upgraded sports facility.

San Francisco Rec & Park requested the repairs of the playground, which Vintage completed in June. The Kevin Durant Charity Foundation and Joe Gebbia of Airbnb stepped in and helped finance these needed repairs as well as making the one of a kind artistic basketball court a possibility.

Artist Apexer was chosen to create the design of the basketball court and worked with Vintage to source the right materials and colors. With the skill of the talented Vintage crew members Victor and Rodolfo, and the vision of Apexer, Hayes Valley Playground was transformed into a one of a kind multisport playground.

San Francisco Rec and Park will be holding a court reopening celebration on Monday, July 29th from 3 to 5 PM at Hayes Valley Playground to honor all that were involved in this unique project, and to kick off the many fun days that lie ahead for this amazing playground.
